Downloading juggernaut iTunes has released its top-selling albums and singles for 2007, with Maroon 5 and Fergie at the top of the respect heaps. It’s been reported in the past that iTunes—at least 3 billion songs sold since it launched in 2003—is the third-largest music retailer in the country behind Wal-Mart and Best Buy. Judging by the unsurprising artists on these lists, that seems just about right. Wow, I only own one album listed here (it’s not Daughtry). I’m so out of touch. What about you?

Well I do own Graduation & It Won't Be Soon Before Long (as easy as it is to hate a group like Maroon 5 simply because teenage girls love them, it's a great, slick commercial pop record that furthers the competition in the "I can copy Prince/Michael Jackson better than you" race). I only have a couple of songs off fo Back to Black and in terms of singles....only Stronger and of course Makes Me Wonder. |

Not only do I not own a single album in the top 10, I also have no songs from any of the 10 albums, either. I also have none of the 10 singles and have actually heard only 7 of them. That makes me quite proud, actually.
