Big iTunes news from MacWorld has been announced-- chiefly that iTunes is going to introduce a sliding price scale, and it is going to reomve DRM from its MP3s.
The sliding price scale is something labels have been pining for since iTunes launched-- they want to charge more than 99 cents for hit songs, and iTunes' new structure will allow for that. Songs will reportedly be tiered from 79 cents, 99 cents, and $1.29.
The DRM-details are in a nascent stage-- iTunes has announced they are looking into abolishing DRM for all of their songs. But that seems like a lesser concern for most users-- iTunes sells millions of songs with DRM, and no one really cares. [Idolator]
