iTunes Partners With Live Nation To Offer Filmed Concerts

Apple sells itself as the the cool alternative to major corporations, but it never shrinks from a potential revenue stream. Case in point is the company’s new partnership with Live Nation, the good people who own exclusive rights to put Nickelback in amphitheaters across the nation. The deal would allow Apple’s iTunes service to sell filmed Live Nation concerts for approximately $7.99. Both parties are keeping details pretty close to the vest at this point, but Jesse McCartney and Ziggy Marley have already been mentioned as possible offerings. What this says about the long-term viability of the project remains to be seen. [Reuters via The Daily Swarm]
