iTunes 8 rumored to bring smart recommendations and hi-def television

No matter how many times Apple users have to download iTunes (which seems to be a lot, actually), a new version is always a source of excitement. The eighth iteration of the media management program might have something to offer other than more checkboxes and new ways to enrich the Apple Corporation. Though these rumors are unconfirmed, sources are reporting iTunes 8 might offer HDTV downloads and a new “trippy” visualization tool.  The most interesting feature, however, has to be “Genius,” a smart program that will create playlists based on song qualities and make recommendations about similar music for purchase. Well, Apple can’t really be faulted for trying to enrich itself. It is a corporation, after all. The company has thus far remained mum about any of the innovations. [Gizmodo]
