Anticipation for The Beatles: Rock Band is starting to reach a fever pitch, thanks in part due to the game now being available for pre-order, along with a bevy of custom instruments. The game is set for release on September 9, and for $250, you can purchase a "Special Edition" of the game that features new Beatles-inspired drums (with a kick drum head), a Hofner Bass (the kind favored by McCartney), a microphone and a microphone stand. No pictures of any of that are available at this time, but there are pictures of the two additional custom instruments that will be available at the game's launch: a Gretsch Duo Jet (bottom left) and a Rickenbacker 325 (top left), which will both retail for $99. Harmonix is obviously really going all out with the release of the game, but since it's the company's first branded game (and the BEATLES!) they can't be blamed. [Engadget]
