Islands Announce North American Tour

While we wait patiently to hear more music from Island’s forthcoming A Sleep & A Forgetting — it’s due out Feb. 14 — we’re cool with learning that we’ll be able to hear the album live soon. Nick Thorburn and company will be hitting the road when the record drops on Valentine’s Day and cover most of the bigger cities across North America. And just to note, they’re playing intimate settings. Thorburn explains why and gives some insight into the album in the quote below:

“This album is far more personal than any I’ve made before,” Thorburn explains. “I left New York and came to Los Angeles and there was this piano where I was staying. And that’s where I wrote these songs. The record deals with loss, with memory and forgetting and with dreaming.”
