Isaac Hayes has passed away at the age of 65. According to the sheriff's department of Shelby County, Tennesee, the legendary soul singer was found unconscious in his home by a still-running treadmill by relatives. An investigation into Hayes' death is still open, but no foul play is suspected.

Hayes was most known for the score for Shaft, which landed him a #1 single in addition to Grammy and Academy Awards. Years later, people would also come to know Hayes as the voice behind the character  Jerome "Chef" McElroy on the tv show South Park. [CNN]
