The RjDj application for iPhone and iPod Touch utilizes ambient sounds and movements to make sound "scenes" that react to changes in the user's enviroment. Though the effects of the application are interesting and the reactivity is amazing, I would stop short of calling this a new genre of music. Any music that can be created while getting some juice from the fridge is officially a parlor trick until an it results in something at least as compelling as "Sister Christian." [Radio.sc]
Is RjDj application a new genre of music?

Not a new genre, really -- not yet, anyway -- but it seems like a new way to create electronic music. Bob Boilen talked about a somewhat similar application recently: Bloom, developed by Eno. Take a look: http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2008/10/ive_fallen_in_love_with_an_app.html.
