Irving Azoff is Willing to Jettison TicketsNow for Merger

Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff told a congressional panel that he would be in favor of sellling the company's subsidiary TicketsNow to obtain clearance for a merger with Live Nation. This admission comes in the wake of a massive mark-up on Bruce Springsteen tickets that those skeptical about the proposed deal say would become par for the course if the merger is approved. Though Azoff might have characterized the sale of TicketsNow as a sign that he is willing to compromise, it is well known that he opposed Ticketmaster's initial purchase of the company. The old adage talks about not being able to have cake and eat it too, but Azoff seems not only to be doing that, but touting the health value of a slice of red velvet. [Wired]

Please send your email to antitrust.atr@usdoj.gov to stop this merger before Live Nation & Ticketmaster becomes a Cartel. We will pay a big price if we allow this merger to happen.
