Apart from that tossed-off interview with Paste late last year, all has been quiet on the Interpol front as of late. They're allegedly releasing a new album this year, and plan to tour. The only thing that has been confirmed is that latter part, which is set to happen sooner than you think: June and July to be exact, when the morose New Yorkers open for U2 on that band's North American jaunt. They will replace Lenny Kravitz as the opener for their dates, which is Lulz, obviously.
Here are the dates for Interpol and U2:
06.27 Minneapolis, MN: TCF Bank Stadium
06.30 East Lansing, MI: Spartan Stadium
07.03 Toronto, Ontario: Rogers Centre
07.06 Chicago, IL: Soldier Field
07.09 Miami, FL: Land Shark Stadium
07.12 Philadelphia, PA: Lincoln Financial Field
