Interpol Taps David Pajo to Replace Carlos D, Names Album

Like Indiana Jones in The Last Crusade, Interpol has chosen wisely, having announced that none other than indie veteran David Pajo will replace Carlos D on bass.

A founding member of Slint who's also provided guitar work for Tortoise, Stereolab, Zwan and Bonnie "Prince" Billy and most recently toured with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pajo is more than capable of filling in D's shoes. It's just too bad, though, that the members of Interpol weren't equally as inspired when coming up with a title for their new album, which is simply called Interpol. Guess going the self-titled route is all the rage these days, but whatever the case, the members haven't revealed any specifics except to say that their fourth effort will be out sometime in mid-September.

As we reported before, Interpol revised their tour itinerary due to Bono's back injury. See updated dates here. [via Pitchfork
