Via: NMEInterpol is close to completing the follow-up to 2004's Antics, and according to guitarist Daniel Kessler, we can expect something much more "expressive." Speaking to the NME about the band's forthcoming Capitol debut, Kessler had the following to say:
"We had keyboards on from the start which we've never done before. It's like a fifth member. There's a lot more texture, and interesting sounds, there's definitely progression and growth."
The as-yet-untitled album will also mark the band's first time working with a producer, Rich Costey, who's previously worked with Muse.

Were they ever expressive in the first place? I could careless what their new album or "new sound" is like. Once I saw them in concert (thank you, ex-girlfriend!) and they had these insanely bright white lights blaring into the crowd the whole time. And they played with the enthusiasm of a gaggle of geriatrics. I could have stayed home and put myself in the microwave and just played their studio albums really loud. I don't think they have feelings. And for art school kids, their videos really are horrible. Oh wait. That actually makes sense.
