On Monday night, Stephen Colbert called out Kanye West on his show, challenging him to a sales competition and questioning Kanye’s claim that he’ll go down as the voice of this generation. So yesterday, in response, Kanye posted a Twitter message that said this:

who the fuck is Stephen Colbert?

The post hit at around 9 p.m. EST last night, so Colbert wasn’t able to respond to the Twit, but last night he called out Kanye again, and said the Colbert Nation should Twitter about his Operation Humble Kanye.

I think this is obviously leading up to a performance/appearance by West on the show, but how far Colbert will go beforehand is the entertaining part. [via Stereogum]
