There’s a certain childlike sense of wonder embedded in the songs of many contemporary indie rockers. If Joanna Newsom, Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear bring back memories of hazy summer days spent doodling in coloring books then this project by British artist Andy J. Miller is for you. Miller’s book is part of a project he undertook for his degree at Huddersfield University in England. He takes songs such as Beirut’s “Carousel” and Feist’s “The Park” and creates activities out of them, such as coloring, word puzzles, and (this is my favorite) a challenge to find the Grizzly Bear that doesn’t fit. Miller’s efforts are in aid of the AIDS/HIV organization named (red), and you can see most of the pages here. [Pitchfork]
