Arguably a few years past its hay day, California alt-metal outfit Incubus is ready for a break. Brandon Boyd and friends have announced plans to go on hiatus following the end of their ongoing summer tour. Incubus previously took an almost five-year break following the release of 2006’s Light Grenades.
Boyd recently told Billboard, “We have no plans, to tell you the truth … we’ll probably take another break…. Hopefully it won’t be as long as before, but what we’d like to do is arrive with the best of intentions and try to create music from a sense of urgency as well as purity and not necessarily based on a schedule.”
The band’s current tour with Linkin Park is in support of its seventh full-length, If Not Now, When?, out now on Epic/Immortal. [NME]
