An independent record store would like to have Iggy Pop in their neighborhood for a number of reasons, but Sweat Records of Miami knows there's more in it than just being cool by association. When the store's air conditioner went bust Pop stepped in to raise the money to replace it. The Michigan native must have appreciated just how hot it gets down there.
To get the money Pop allowed the store to sell t-shirts with an illustration of his face and be a guest star at an event with the local band Awesome New Republic. That should cover the AC and then some. Hey Iggy, it's hot in my apartment, too--how about some of those t-shirts so I can sell them on the corner?
