While Young Buck and 50 get all the publicity (and the crying), Soulja Boy and Ice-T are performing well as an undercard; the battle between the old-Law and Order, “Cop Killer” MC, and the young, “Superman that ho” MC has just reached a new low as T responds to Soulja Boy’s eight-minute YouTube rant with his own seven-minute counter.
In the video, T apologizes for asking Soulja Boy to “eat a dick” in his first video, and addresses Soulja Boy’s charges that T is old and dried-up. In his video T, says:
“I apologize for telling you to eat a dick. That was just in anger. Because truthfully, a brother of my caliber shouldn’t be talking down to a youngster your age. But as far as your music goes: it’s garbage.”
The only bright spot of this Ice-T video is that he makes a funny statement that if you’re 17, a 25-year-old is as old as hell to you.
At the end of the clip, with his dick-eating comment repented for, T has his 16-year-old son say it for him. Again.
This whole thing reeks of a kind of depressing changing of the guards. Sure, Ice-T meant something awhile ago, but what possible positive can come from a nearly 50-year-old telling a 17-year-old he sucks? Especially since the 17-year-old is coming off looking more mature and more put together, and that pains me to write because I’m writing that about the guy who wrote “Crank That.”
Well, the ball’s in your court Soulja Boy. Ice-T promises he’s done bashing you. Do him a favor and don’t give him the satisfaction of responding. [Nah Right]
This does seem pointless, but I gotta give thanks to Ice-T for making 'Iceberg' and 'Power.' Two albums I loved and have fond memories of hiding from my parents.
