Fifteen years ago it would have seemed inconceivable that Ice Cube, he of "straight outta Compton, crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube" fame, would be soundtracking a Nike skateboarding commercial. But here his "Today Was a Good Day" is in the new Paul Rodriguez Nike skateboarding commercial. This is an extended cut of the version that hit the net about two weeks ago, and it features Eric Koston, Kobe Bryant and Ice Cube himself.
Never a bad excuse to listen to a bit more "Today Was a Good Day."
Skateboarding and hip hop have always had a pretty tight relationship. Anyone remember the old Plan B videos that introduced a lot of us to the Hieroglyphics? Good stuff!
