Beatles: Rock Band Gets Release Date

Back in October, Harmonix announced they were going to be releasing their first band-oriented version of Rock Band, and hoped to have it out by the holiday season of 2009. Well, the holiday season must start in September, because the game has been announced as having a September 9 release date. There's even a website for it now.

 

The game will come out on the same day for all three major platforms (Wii, X-Box 360, and Playstation 3), and Beatles-like plastic instruments will be available the same day as well. No word on the tracklist thus far, but here's hoping that "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" makes the cut. That song would slay on that game.

I'm curious to see if this gets an older generation into videogames. My old man, who is in his early 50s and loves the Beatles, has already been asking about whether or not I'll get this game, because he'd be interested in playing it. I think the only videogame he's played in his life is Tetris.

Whenever I check in to the comments on a story here, I feel like I'm spying on my friend's teenage brother and his friends. That thought and Boner City together make me feel like a dirty old lady.
