When he’s not churning out remixes for Jamie Woon, Dan Deacon, and everyone in between, Glasgow’s Hudson Mohawke is putting the finishing touches on his latest effort. The Satin Panthers EP, which drops this August, is the 25-year-old producer/DJ’s follow-up to his 2009 debut album, Butter. The EP features five new tracks from HudMo, who, from the sound of lead single “Thunder Bay,” has been messing with some more danceable, slightly tribal rhythms. The bass on the track is something serious, as are those synth horns, so turn up your volume accordingly.
Satin Panthers drops Aug. 2 on Warp, though you can preorder it now at Bleep. Stream “Thunder Bay” below.
