Hudgens Wants Zooey Deschanel's Role As Janis Joplin, Indicating Nobody In Hollywood Has Ever Seen Janis Joplin

In a recent interview promoting her new movie Bandslam, actress Vanessa Hudgens said that her ultimate role would be Janis Joplin. She furthered her credentials by revealing that in her upcoming movie Beastly, she has a scene at a Halloween party dressed as the singer. Whatever that particular piece of information is worth, it's not enough, as the role in the long-delayed Joplin biopic went to Zooey Deschanel. This means that Deschanel will probably ugly herself up for Oscar a la Charlize Theron in Monster, but at least Joplin will be spared the indignity of being portrayed by the soulful voice of "We're All In This Together." This movie is as dead as JJ herself. Ain't gonna happen.

I love Zooey but it would be a terrible choice for this kind of film.

I initially thought it was dead too, but I found enough info that it might be in the chute to include it.
