Hubris: YMCMB Leave Grammys Empty-Handed After Talking Smack

So, the Grammys went down in full decadence last night, and if you caught any of the red carpet zoo parade beforehand, then you might have landed on Birdman and the Young Money/Cash Money crew jabbering off about the success of their Grammy nods. Now, seeing that Busta Rhymes (I don’t know how much this counts, because he was just signed a second ago), Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled were collectively nominated for a total of sixteen awards, you’d think they could at least walk away with something; however, this was not the circumstance, as sweet hubris struck down its mallet upon the most over-hyped camp in hip-hop.

Wayne took a backseat to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Nicki Minaj was shoved off by Bon Iver, Drake was brushed off by “All of the Lights,” and overall, the ceremony was a tragically enlightening experience for the vainglorious crew. C’mon–you really thought Tha Carter IV and Pink Friday were in true contest?

In case you missed it, here’s the aforementioned red carpet footage of YMCMB boasting off in full gusto before getting pummeled. It’s much more entertaining now.
