Information Blower posted its annual list of the Top 40 Bands in America this week. We're late in posting this, but I didn't really what to say about the list. Nothing really surprising. Lots of indie rock as expected. Almost no hip-hop cracked the list minus the acts you'd expect (Ghostface, Dangermouse, Girl Talk doesn't count).
One thing that aspiring music bloggers should take note of is how this type of post can bring the traffic.

• Lists. People love to discuss, argue and whine about lists to no end. Although everyone seemed to trash the article "100 Greatest Albums" posted by Time earlier this week, it did make a bit of noise.


• Invite blogs to participate. What's better than a list of the top so and so? A list of the top so and so based on lists from other blogs. This guarantees mega linkage and traffic from your blogosphere peers.
