A bass drum head at a music store: $36.99
The bass drum head from the Sgt. Peppers album cover: $1.067 million
Knowing you just wasted a million dollars on crap that could have been spent buying more than a billion boxes of Ramen Noodles: Priceless.
That’s right, someone bought the bass drum head featured on The Beatles seminal album yesterday for more than a million dollars. (I’m guessing they’re not the kind of people facing the prospect of a “stay-cation”.)
Why would someone want a bass drum head that was never attached to a drum?
Well, because it, like, gives you ‘60s credibility or something (or at least a story to tell at the country club).
The million plus price tag ($1,067,346 in fact) dwarfs the amount ($830,706) spent on John Lennon’s handwritten “Give Peace a Chance.” [Idolator]
