How long is the appropriate wait before you start compiling a list of tragic plane crashes involving rock stars? Apparently four days.

If the line was set at five days in your “How Long Will it Take Before Someone Compares the Plane Crash Involving DJ AM and Travis Barker to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s?” pool, and you bet the over, you just lost my friends. Yahoo music’s Stop the Presses blog has a story detailing all of the famous plane crashes that killed famous musicians, and although the mood is generally reverent and tasteful, it still seems kind of brash to start throwing this crash in with the likes of the day the music died, Patsy Cline, and Lynryd Skynryd.

Granted, the list is somewhat useful as it places the DJ AM and Travis Barker crash in a larger context, but it still seems rather morbid—four people died in the crash, and none of them were famous. So ending the list with thanking the heavens for not killing two more musicians via plane is moderately insulting to the people who did die. [Stop the Presses]
