Hot Hot Heat frontman Steve Bays wants to assure fans that his band's new album, Happiness Ltd., scheduled for release on September 11, returns to the dance-punk roots of its celebrated Make Up the Breakdown album, discarding the pop-punk of 2005's Elevator and the attempt at experimental "mariachi-punk" speculated by many bloggers. Says Bays in an interview with ChartAttack.com: "I think lyrically it's saying happiness is more fulfilling when it's coming from a real place, not an instant gratification place." (full interview here)Aw, isn't that nice? It's all about being happy. Meanwhile, the band is currently wrapping up a summer tour with U.K. alt-poppers Snow Patrol; for complete tour schedule, check its website: http://www.hothotheat.com.
