Hollywood Bowl season shaping up

As an unusually chilly winter drags on in Los Angeles, nothing warms an Angeleno music fan's heart like thinking of the balmy summer nights soon to be spent at the Hollywood Bowl. The historic venue's 2008 music lineup is just beginning to take shape. Besides the big R.E.M./Modest Mouse/the National show we told you about, other acts set to play the Bowl this summer include Devendra Banhart and Gilberto Gil, Gnarls Barkley, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Etta James, Jamie Cullum, Chris Isaak, Diana Ross, and Donna Summer. Following up on a big event from last year, Cheap Trick will again assemble various musical friends to help recreate the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Loneley Hearts Club Band. And Brian Wilson will officially close out the season with three nights of concerts over September 12-14. More information can be found at www.hollywoodbowl.com.
