Former Hole drummer Patty Schemel played with the band at the peak of its fame, and appeared to go through several lifetimes of pain during her stint with Courtney Love. Now, it transpires that Schemel was a keen documentarian, and had shot over 40 hours of footage about Hole during her time with the group. Filmmakers P. David Ebersole, Todd Hughes, and Christina Soletti have taken this footage and used it in a documentary of their own, titled Hit So Hard: The Life And Near-Death Story of Patty Schemel, which they are currently funding through Kickstarter. You can see a trailer for the movie above, which includes recent interviews with Schemel’s former bandmates plus rare clips of Kurt Cobain, and an appeal to help fund the film.
