A year ago today, it seemed as though New Yorkers were able to catch High Places' live show at least once a week. Now, after a breakout year in 2008 - which included a well recieved debut album, a European trek with Deerhunter, and a slot at the Pitchfork Music Festival, among other accomplishments - we only get one date on a 4 month tour (I'll forgive them since this date is with the phenomenal Grouper).

The ever-busy duo is right back to buisiness in 2009, with this set of mini-tours kicking off tonight in Los Angeles. After hitting some choice Californian cities, they head back east for a hot minute, only to set off alongside Dan Deacon to bring their dreamy grooves to the land down under. Finally, the spring will find then all over the Scandinavian countries, where I bet their sweet sincerity and innocent charm is a big hit.
