I never thought I'd say this, but one of the great heavy metal booking agents of today is a major car company. Whoever at Scion came up with the hairbrained scheme of marketing cars to metalheads is either an idiot or the most forward-thinking branding genius of all time.
Either way, Scion's presented three straight fantastic FREE metal shows in Los Angeles this year. Today Is the Day and Withered rocked a Scion stage earlier this year; Nachtmystium and Wolves In the Throne Room killed it a couple months later. And now: barbarian metal horde High on Fire and this year's US black metal IT band Krallice (with Mick Barr of Orthrelm, Colin Marston of Behold the Arctopus/Byla and Lev Weinstein of Bloody Panda) play a Scion show on December 10th at the Knitting Factory.
It's all ages. It's free. It's on a Wednesday night. No excuse to miss this one. Make sure to RSVP at scion.com/metalshow.
