Here We Go Magic To Release 'Pigeons' This Spring, Give Away New Track, "Collector"

Luke Temple gets by with a little help from his friends. Roughly a year ago the pop-folk singer-songwriter crafted one of the most beautiful albums of 2009, under the moniker Here We Go Magic. The eponymous album featured stream-of-conscious lyrics and swirls of psychedelic, lo-fi noise. Since then, Temple has emerged from the bedroom and sculpted a five-piece band -- Temple, Kristina Lieberson, Michael Bloch, Jennifer Turner, and Peter Hale -- to round out his sound. And not only have they scheduled a heavy amount of touring, but they have also announced that their sophomore LP, Pigeons, will be released this spring.

Here are three of the many reasons to get excited for this album: (1) The band's new track, “Collector," available via Secretly Canadian’s website, is as catchy as any Here We Go Magic song to date; (2) Pigeons, set for release on Secretly Canadian on June 8, was produced and recorded by Here We Go Magic over four months in the late summer and fall of 2009. Who doesn’t love a self-produced, summer-inspired album?; and (3) the cover art and track list show whimsy and offer promise. Which finger-painting character, oddly resembling salad fingers, do you think is Luke Temple?
