Hammerin' Hank Rollins will keep hammering away at the ridiculous political situation in this country on a massive spoken word tour that starts in September. How massive? The tour will encompass fifty appearances in all. Hmmm, fifty stops for fifty states? Could be symbolic. Rollins is calling this outing "Provoked: An Evening of Quintessentially American Opinionated Editorializing and Storytelling." Henry Rollins is the greatest. He just did a "conversation" with Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls at the Hammer Museum last week, and he was quite possibly the most wonderfully awkward/nerdy/honest speaker I've ever heard. Is he really skipping over Los Angeles for this tour?
China
Yeah, I was surprised to see no L.A. date. But here's around here all the time. Didn't he just do something at the Silent Movie Theater not too long ago? And did you see him in the audience at any of the recent Dino Jr. shows at the Troub?
John Zeiss
Yeah, he's around all the time, but I'd have figured he takes politics seriously enough that he'd want this particular tour to get a stop in this town. I think he was at the Silent Movie Theater (with Janeane Garafolo, yes?). And I didn't end up at any of those shows, so no Henry was in sight, sadly.
