Henry Rollins Produced An Album For Charles Manson

Chalk this one up in the morbidly interesting category: Henry Rollins told a Los Angeles audience last night that he produced an album for Charles Manson. Yes, that one. At a benefit for Los Angeles’ KCRW, Rollins announced he produced a number of Manson’s “pop songs” while the convicted serial murderer (and singer-songwriter hopeful) served a life sentence. This correspondence eventually led to a full album, entitled Completion, of which five pressings were made. The manufacturing ceased once label employees began to receive death threats. He played a few of the songs for the crowd and remarked “I can hear you all listening to your hair grow.” As interesting as this all sounds, I’d feel kinda dirty allowing myself to listen to the songwriting of a killer. I bet the mix is off too. [Aux]
