Hendrix Biopic in the Works Again, Everyone Still Unaware of Made-for-TV Version

Variety is reporting that Legendary Pictures is in talks with the Hendrix estate to try to produce a biopic about Jimi Hendrix. The estate has long been against the prospect of a movie based on Jimi's life (they sank the version that had Andre 3000 attached to the lead role, and prevented a not that bad made-for-TV version starring Avon Barksdale from using any Hendrix music), but apparently Legendary feels encouraged enough by its talks with the estate that it is going ahead and writing a script that will need final approval before the movie can be completed. Legendary has made no announcement as to who would play Hendrix in their version. I'm still optimistic that an Andre 3000-starring version would be pretty good. [Variety]
