Hear Unreleased Lana Del Rey Track, “Never Let Me Go”

A previously unreleased Lana Del Rey track, presumably an unused take from her Born to Die album, has surfaced on YouTube.

“Never Let Me Go” takes a soft rock ballad approach to her lovesick songstress routine. Strings fill out what would otherwise be a very straightforward Top 40 love song, though the track is probably too dull-edged for Del Rey’s otherwise aggressively “different” pop sound on her album.

Fans of Del Rey’s voice will likely be sated by the lack of shrill high notes in the production, though detractors will likely feel justified by a chorus like “If you love me hardcore, then don’t walk away.”
