Just a few days ago, Prince told The Daily Mirror that the Internet was "completely over" in his not-so-humble opinion, but when you've got a new album to promote, it starts looking pretty cool, doesn't it? I don't know if his people officially released the song, but you can hear "Laydown," off the upcoming 20Ten. It's a candlelit grind of a funk track: distinct bassline, wah-wah synth flourishes and hilariously direct lines like "From the heart of Minnesota, here comes the purple Yoda." Maybe he's just trying to make sure no one can ever cover this song without feeling like a jackass. [Vulture]
