If you are a fan of GOOD Music signee Travis $cott, chances are you have come across some of his older releases with his partner, Jason. Under the name OG Che$$, Jason has continued making music in hopes of creating his own lane. The Houston native's new single, "LOREAL," is clearly a step in the right direction. The song comes after his "Harlem to Texas" collaboration with "Shabba Ranks" rapper A$AP Ferg.
The A$AP Mob affiliate gets to work over an addictive electronic beat by JcBeatzNC that samples the Titchimoto remix of Virtual Riot and Amba Shepherd's hit "Superhuman". Shepherd's ethereal voice floats over the hip-hop rework of the beat as the chorus, with Che$$ rapping "say you got a lot to lose/ain't nobody here, what you got to prove" to a female friend. The sample really boosts the song, and if JcBeatzNC has more collaborations coming with Che$$ fronting the instrumentals, it could mean an impressive new sound for the young artist. Listen to the song below.
"LOREAL" is the lead single from the Houston emcee's new project CMVII, scheduled for release on August 15.
