Man holds Hannah Montana statue for more than six days, everyone officially nuts
A Tampa, Florida, man won two tickets from a local radio station by holding onto a 400-pound statue of Disney icon-supergirl Hannah Montana (a.k.a. Little Ray Cyrus). In a promotion that evoked images of the seminal documentary Hands on a Hard Body, contestants were charged with keeping one hand on the statue at all times with the last person standing winning tickets, backstage passes, and 5,000 dollars. Participants were given 12-minute breaks every three hours and were allowed food and drink but no iPods, cell phones or books. The contest dragged on into a sixth day and finally Powell was declared the winner when runner-up Lara Padgett took her hand off the statue's foot. All was not lost for Padgett who had previously struck a deal with Powell to split the $5,000 and divide up the tickets and backstage passes. Padgett was later hospitalized saying, "the sun really got to me today."

The only thing dumber than contests like that are the people who enter them.
