GZA's
Liquid Swords marks its 17th anniversary in November, and while that in itself is not an especially occasion, the folks at Get on Down Records have found it high time the classic album from the Wu-Tang member be reissued. According to
HipHopDx, the label is piecing together a re-release of the record that will feature the original album, its (mostly RZA-produced) instrumentals, liner notes penned to
GZA himself, and a chess set that ties into
Liquid Swords' lyrical themes. No release date for the project is available yet, but we'll keep you in the know. (Previously, Get on Down has been involved in reissues of other Wu-related solo albums, including Ghostface Killah's
Supreme Clientele and
Ironman.)
