In a stunning turn of events, a rap album's release is being delayed. GZA's sequel to the 1995 classic Liquid Swords, Liquid Swords 2, is being pushed back, as the Wu-Tang Clan member is instead setting his sights on a new album, one with "a visual and audio element," he tweeted. There is no title and other details are sparse for this new album, which will be his sixth, but GZA pledges to be "taking it up a notch."
Whenever it comes out, Liquid Swords 2 will feature fellow Wu-Tang member RZA handling some of the production duties. It was originally planned to drop last autumn, but you know how these things go. RZA is currently working on his directorial debut, The Man with the Iron Fists, starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and written by Eli Roth, so that may be part of the cause for the delay. Either way, stay tuned for whatever GZA's got up his sleeve. [HipHopDX via CoS]
There are rumors that, between recording sessions, he will also work on diversifying his bonds.
haha
I guess another long wait for good hip hop music. I still have others to peep right now, but i'm still in anticipation for this great album.
