Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy To Be Released on Rock Band

Years it took for Chinese Democracy to be released: 14

Months before Axl's record label decided it needed to try to bolster sales by releasing it through Rock Band: 3

That's right, Interscope, home to Guns N' Roses, has decided to release Chinese Democracy, in total, through Rock Band. The move makes sense, at least superficially, because the type of people who bought the album are also the type to download it again for play on Rock Band. But it seems a bit early to start trying to spread the album around again (it'd be different if they released it on the videogame the same day as the CD), since it basically acknowledges they haven't made enough revenue on the album itself.

Chinese Democracy is set to hit the Rock Band store sometime this spring. [NME]

Its not a guns n roses album..its axl rose and the rejects. dont yall see why it didnt sell nowhere near what a true guns album did? slash, duff, matt, and izzy are the ones who hold the key to axl rose being a true guns n roses again.

Yeah, like that would matter. The album would still be the suck.

You're being a tad hars now.
"Destruction" is an amazing album.

"Harsh" fail.
Destruction was pretty solid, but I think at this point, any reformation of GNR would lead to an album just like Chinese Democracy. In short, it would be the suck.

Almost great album. It is very good and...GOD I wish they'd release the Better video already.

"Democracy" is terrible? Hmm... Do you prefer Cold Play? Perhaps a little Kanye West.

No one is writing songs as complex and melodic at once, and no one in rock and roll can sing in Axl's range. "Better" is the most unique, ferocious, pretty rock song to come out in a long, long time. The album showcases exceptional musical range, instrumental virtuosity, and compositional prowess. Just about any band on the planet would put half the songs on Democracy as a centerpiece on their album--just that they can't even cover them, much less write them and sing them.

But other than that, the record sucks.

I like Kanye better than Chinese Democracy, that's for sure.

Better vocalists:

Steven Tyler: Aerosmith
Miles Kennedy: Alterbridge
Chris Cornell: Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, Solo
Bono: U2

That's just super mainstream singers, there are a ton more.

"Better" is a cover. Axl didn't write it, nor did anyone else in GNR.

I would say "eh, it's alright without the real band" but really...GNR was an attitude, a fire. Only thing that compares to the original GNR is the mastering. FInally somebody put quality over volume. Bob Ludwig did a great job mastering it.

But yeah don't give too much credit to axl. He's beyond washed up. Good luck with Rock Band.

what do you mean "better" is a cover?

Axl n' Robin wrote that one.

I am in Fort Lauderdale, AND I used to listen to them in my old days, now I run a church called Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale - Bob Coy
