Guns N' Roses Bottled Off Stage In Dublin (Video)

· by

It hasn’t been a good week for Axl Rose—does Axl ever have a good week?—following the truncated sets he was forced to play at the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K. The next stop on the Guns N’ Roses touring train wreck was Dublin, where they turned up on stage over an hour late, only to be greeted with a sea of bottles being thrown from the crowd.

You can hear the mixture of boos and cheers and the odd “Fuck you!” from the crowd as the group takes to the stage in the clip above. Rose quickly stops the opening “Welcome to the Jungle” by saying: “Here’s the deal: one more bottle, we go home. It’s up to you. We would like to stay. You want us to stay? We want to stay. We want to have some fun. If you don’t want to have fun, all you’ve got to do is let us know and we’ve got no problem. We’ll go on our way.”

The band left the stage three songs later, which is also shown in the edited clip above, before an announcer tells the crowd there have been some “technical difficulties” (yeah, right). According to this report on NME, many fans had left the venue when Guns N’ Roses did return 35 minutes later to complete the set. Another year, another Axl Rose car crash. All those fans bemoaning the fact that the band rarely plays in North America may be having second thoughts today.
