Guitar and recording innovator Les Paul may have only died today (Aug. 13), but a bunch of famous guitarists have already called or written in tributes at Rolling Stone.com. First and foremost, there's Slash, who remembered Paul as a "friend & mentor" and called Paul "one of the most stellar human beings I’ve ever known."
Other musicians chiming in with tributes include former Kiss axeman Ace Frehley, John Mayer, Joe Satriani and the Donnas. Paul, who died at 94, once said that he stayed young at heart by hanging around younger people. So expect a lot more tributes in Rolling Stones' next issue.
Thanks for the music .....always
