Guitar Hero CEO Expresses Confusion Over Cobain Flap, Casts Courtney As Modern Day Yoko

It seems that no matter the amount of bloviation or hand-wringing going on with regard to the Kurt Cobain avatar, Dan Rosenweig, CEO of the Guitar Hero franchise, has a definite ace in the hole: he paid for the rights fair and square. In a recent interview with NME, Rosenweig said that the real dispute should be between the remaining members of Nirvana and Courtney Love, who signed away Cobain’s likeness and opened him up to playing Bon Jovi, 3 Doors Down, and Rammstein. Given the fallout, Love probably wants to buy back the rights at this point, if only to save face. As she’s not really the bakesale type, maybe Love could interest Rosenwieg in a percentage of the sales of Nobody’s Daughter. That would have to equal the loads of publicity he’s receiving from having Cobain in his video game…right? [Idolator]
