Guided by Voices To Go On Full Reunion Tour

Christmas comes early for record store clerks everywhere: Guided by Voices, the seminal lo-fi indie rawk band, has just released dates for a full fall tour of the United States, after recently announcing reunion of their “classic lineup” at Matador’s 21st anniversary show in Las Vegas. Let’s hope they’ve still got their rock legs; Pollard’s marathon man presence on stage is legendary, and if they don’t collapse from the exhaustion of the extra years and pounds, we could see some three hour epics. The lineup will be Pollard, Tobin Sprout and Mitch Mitchell on guitar, Greg Demos on bass and Kevin Fennell on drums–one of the incarnations that recorded classics like Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes. Supporting them throughout the tour will be Times New Viking and Blitzen Trapper, depending on the date. It’s basically going to be the best tour ever! We can’t wait. [Pitchfork]
