It can get kind of tough to keep track of every one of Gucci Mane's albums, mixtapes and remixes, and even most die hard fans and music journalists have a few holes in their collection. Which is why it's nice to see that Gucci's official debut from way back in 2001, La Flare, is being digitally enhanced and reissued online by Str8 Drop Records and 101 Distribution.
Only 1,000 copies of La Flare were ever pressed, so those of us who care about all things Gucci now won't have to cough up a bunch of money on Ebay. It features 14 tracks including guest verses by a few fellow Atlanta rappers that have since mainly disappeared.
Odds are this won't be as crowd-pleasing as a lot of his more recent material, but it ought to serve as an historical document to better understand the rapper's development, at the very least.
La Flare is available November 9 at 101 Distribution and other digital outlets.
