Update: Even though numerous sites reported otherwise, Gucci Mane is not out of jail yet. MTV's RapFix reported the following:
July 6, 2011 10:15 AM ET: A rep from Fulton County Jail confirms to RapFix that Gucci Mane (real name, Radric Davis) is still in custody in FCJ and said, “Mr. Davis will be with us for a while” citing a hold by the Georgia Department of Corrections that orders Gucci to be sent to a state prison upon his release from Fulton.
Damn. Well, for now, you can read the previous post below and pretend he's out, I guess, and get stupid to his new tape.
For the umpteenth time, Gucci Mane is fresh out of the clink for what he says will be the last time -- yeah, right. And the mushed-mouth trap rapper is celebrating his freedom with the release of a second Writings on the Wall mixtape. It's filled with 19 tracks of the same outrageous, though sometimes poignant, hip-hop we have come to expect from Gucci. He has, of course, lined up a pretty decent cast of guests and producers, who include 50 Cent, Yelawolf, and Young Buck and Drumma Boy, Lex Luger*, and Southside, respectively. Get ignorant, y'all, and celebrate with Gucci.
Download the mixtape at DatPiff.
*Sorry, Lex, but apparently Gucci's people can't spell your last name correctly as it's listed as "Lugar."
