Grizzly Bear to release 'Friend' next week

Brooklyn'''s much loved lo-fi-sters Grizzly Bear will release on November 6, ''"Friend,''" a collection of 10 tracks of new, reworked and re-recorded songs, as well as a collaboration with Zach Condon and covers of their songs tackled by CSS, Atlas Sound and Band of Horses. CSS essentially make a dancey version of ''"Knife,''" while Bradford Cox'''s Atlas Sound takes the song and, well, Jeff Klingman says it best here.

The live version of ''"Little Brother''" has been recorded for the album, and Band of Horses banjo pluck the hell out of ''"Plans.''" As for their own cover, Grizzy Bear take on the Crystals''' ''"He Hit Me.''" And ''"Shift''" gets reworked and even promises to be loud, if you can believe that.
Basically, beginning Saturday, the following few days is all about GB in New York. They'''ll be performing at the Wordless Music Series at NY Society for the Ethical Culture on Saturday. The album release day, Tuesday, they perform ''"Knife on ''"Late Night with Conan O'''Brien''" followed by an in-store at Virgin Records in Union Square on Wednesday.
Here'''s the tracklist:
Alligator (Choir Version featuring Zach Condon of Beirut and Dirty Projectors)
He Hit Me (Crystals cover)
Little Brother (Electric)
Shift (Alternate Version)
Plans(Terrible vs. Nonhorse: Sounds Edit)
Granny Diner
Knife (as covered by CSS)
Plans (as covered by Band of Horses)
Knife (as covered by Atlas Sound)
