Grimes’ Music Is So Intense, She’s Losing Her Hearing

Was it the hardcore pulsations of “Genesis?” The echo-y splendor of “Nightmusic?” The big ol’ bass of “Phone Sex?” We can’t determine the exact song that might have caused the issue at hand, so let’s just blame it on the general, eardrum-busting volume of Grimes’ live music. Yes, Ms. Claire Boucher has to cancel a few tour dates because she’s been experiencing the bane of many a dance music junkie’s existence: hearing loss. Three Canadian gigs have gotten the axe.

In a recent tweet, Grimes explained her affliction: “Hey guys, so sorry 4 the cancelled shows. im having trouble w hearing loss, tinnitus & am trying 2 stay away from loud music 4 a bit -_-.” Hopefully with some rest, she’ll be rescheduling those shows and tweeting some more positive emoticons. Viva la Grimes! Revised tour dates are below. [Fact Mag]
