Now available for stream on Twilight Singers' MySpace page is Greg Dulli's rendition of Jose González's "Down the Line." The track was recorded at an acoustic show at Seattle's Triple Door with Dulli performing under his own name. Backed by Petra Haden (whose violin seems to bleed sexual tension) and Jeff Klein (his piano accompaniment sounding like a waltz at a funeral reception), the cover adds just the amount of grandiose soul that one might expect from Dulli, as the melody crescendos while he repeats González's morose mantra, "Don't let the darkness eat you up," just before fading to black.
